Viroc takes part in the International Conference on Sustainability in Setúbal

From 2 to 4 July, Viroc took part in the 2nd edition of the International Conference on Resilience and Sustainable Regions (ICRSR), held at the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal (IPS). This international event brought together researchers, professionals, students and decision-makers from over 15 countries to discuss the major challenges of sustainable development and territorial resilience.

One of the programme’s highlights was Viroc’s participation in the round table “Resilience and Sustainability in Industry in Setúbal”, alongside leading companies in the region such as Navigator and Lisnave. Viroc shared its strategic vision and best practices in the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient industry.

Headquartered in Setúbal, Viroc reaffirmed its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to promoting knowledge as a key driver to tackle the challenges faced by communities and territories.

Organised by IPS, in partnership with the European university alliance E³UDRES² and international networks such as Businet and the International Business Week, the conference addressed topics such as circular economy, innovation, AI applied to the environment, regional governance and organisational responsibility.

During the debates, company representatives shared sustainability best practices — from waste reduction and resource conservation to investment in renewable energy and environmentally responsible materials. It was unanimously acknowledged that these transformations are no longer optional: they are essential for business survival, with companies expected to deliver quality products with reduced environmental impact.

Viroc’s participation in this international conference reinforces its active role as a responsible and innovative company that integrates sustainability into its core. We believe that knowledge sharing and cross-sector collaboration are key to meeting today’s challenges and fostering a more responsible, resilient and future-ready industry.

Together, we continue building a more sustainable future.
