Valchromat: 224 new reasons to talk about colour

Pantone has just added 224 new colours to the Pantone Matching System, expanding the creative possibilities for designers, architects and brands.

Unveiled in September, this latest expansion reflects a clear shift in the world of design: stricter minimalism is giving way to more expressive approaches, with a stronger presence of colour, unexpected combinations and chromatic choices designed to convey emotion and personality.

With these 224 new shades, the Pantone Matching System now includes a total of 2,614 solid colours. The selection ranges from vibrant and pastel tones to neutrals and nature-inspired colours, reflecting a growing demand for more diverse palettes and a freer, more intentional use of colour.

More than an aesthetic trend, colour is playing an increasingly important role in shaping the identity of a space or object. It can create contrast, emphasise volumes, establish continuity or transform the way an environment is perceived.

This is also where the material becomes part of the equation.

With a palette of 12 colours, Valchromat makes it possible to integrate colour into the panel itself and explore it through different combinations, shapes and details.

Because choosing a colour also means choosing the identity of a project.
